The Power of a Methodical Approach to Tape Solutions
"Isn’t tape just tape?" It’s a comment we hear often, but nothing could be further from the truth. Using the right tape in the right way can mean the difference between a smooth production process and costly delays. That’s why, at Tapeservice, we’ve developed a methodical approach based on three essential criteria.
More Than Just a Product
When a customer comes to us with a challenge, we always start by listening. We want to truly understand the problem. What are the exact conditions? Who will be using it? What are the critical factors? Only after we have the full picture do we begin working on a solution.
Our solution must meet three criteria:
- Technically reliable:Â The tape must perform consistently under all conditions.
- Workable: The solution must be practical and easy to implement on the shop floor.
- Affordable: Not just in terms of the purchase price, but in the overall cost-effectiveness.
Our Method in Practice
A great example of this approach in action is a case with an industrial component manufacturer. They approached us with a masking problem during their powder coating process. Their existing tape left adhesive residue behind, requiring manual removal—a time-consuming and expensive task.
By carefully listening and analyzing the process, we discovered that the combination of high temperatures and their specific surface treatment required a specialized solution. We proposed a high-quality polyester tape with silicone adhesive. While this tape was more expensive upfront, it eliminated the need for post-processing, significantly reducing overall costs.
